Ashra of Ramadan 2024
- The first part reflects the mercy of Allah (Rehmah)..
- The second part reflects the forgiveness of Allah (Maghfirah).
- The third part reflects Safety from Hell (Nijat).
Says the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: The month of Ramadan is one of mercy at its beginning, forgiveness at its middle, and release from the fire (of hell) at its end. 1.
There is no denying that goodness, mercy, and forgiveness abound during the month of Ramadan. This is the greatest chance for all Muslims to ask Allah for forgiveness, receive additional blessings from Him, and be spared the agony on the Day of Judgment.
First Ashra of Ramadan 2024 – Mercy (Rehmah).
Dua for the first Ashra is:
وَقُل رَّبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Translation: “Oh!” My Lord, you are the most merciful of all, and you show mercy and forgiveness. [Quran 23:118]
Second Ashra of Ramadan 2024 – Forgiveness (Maghfirah).
The Ashra of forgiveness takes place from Day 11 to Day 20 of the second 10 days of Ramadan. Muslims ought to apologize for all of their transgressions and ask Allah Almighty for pardon..
Dua for second Ashra is:
أسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ رَبي مِنْ كُلِ ذَنبٍ وَأتُوبُ إلَيهِ
Translation: “I turn to Allah, my Lord, and ask Him for forgiveness of my sins.”
Third Ashra of Ramadan 2024 – Safety (Nijat).
Depending on the moon, the Third Ashra begins on the 21st of Ramadan and ends on the 29th or 30th. Safety from Hell is the name given to Third Ashra (Nijat). If a Muslim wants to avoid Hellfire, they must pray. The Last Ashra is the best and most significant. The Night of Power (Lailatul Qadar) also occurs during this Ashra, and many Muslims attempt to optimize their prayers during this Ashra by practicing Aitkaf, or seclusion for prayers.
As stated in Quran:
“we send it (Quran) down on a blesses Night. Verily, We are ever warning. Therein (in that Night) is decreesd every matter of ordainment. Amran (i.e. a command or this Quran or his Decree of every matter) from Us. Verily, We are sending (the Messenger) (As) a Mercy from your Lord.” [Quran 44: 3-6]
Dua of third Ashra:
ﺍﻟﻠﻬﻢ ﺃﺟﺮﻧﺎ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻨﺎﺭ
Translation: “O Allah, save me from the fire of Hell“
Note For (Ramadan 2024)
On the final day of Sha’ban, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke to us and said, “O people, a great month has come to you, a blessed month, a month in which there is a night that is better than a thousand months.” Fasting is required by Allah, although spending the nights in prayer is optional. The person who performs an obligatory deed in it will be compared to the person who performed seventy obligatory deeds in any other month, and the one who gets near (to Allah) during it by performing a good deed will be like the person who performed an obligatory deed in any other month. This month is dedicated to patience, and the fruit of that patience is Paradise. It’s the month of charitable giving. It is a month when the believer’s allowance is raised. Giving someone who is fasting food to break their fast will atone for their sins and save them from the Fire. He will receive a prize similar to those of the fasting individuals without it in any way reducing it.
